But Vassily Ivanchuk has just turned forty, and is at the hight of his chess powers. His is easily the raciest of all the chess variants we know. abandoned its “doping tests”, so that players will no longer be hounded
by medical officials after their games. The decision allows our company to release

April 2009 ratings: Topalov 29 points ahead of everyone else

Veselin Topalov has once again crossed the 2800 mark, missing his highest-ever rating, 2813, by one point. The Bulgarian is 29 points ahead of the second-ranked player, World Champion Vishy Anand, and a resounding 53 points ahead of former World Champion Vladimir Kramnik. Vassily Ivanchuk is the big loser in the latest list, shedding 33 points and dropping from third to 12th. Top lists.
